This set contains all the right tools to get started, however they are made out of very poor quality materials.
They WILL snap easily.
You do need the transparent locks to see how everything works at first, but the are not professional quality, very cheaply made.
I was really pleased with this set. There is a good range of picks included and they all seem to be of quite good quality. The locks provided with the set are very nice, I've been able to open 3 of the 4 so far and am working n the very tricky last one. The fake "James Bond" credit card (thin plastic case containing a few small picks) isn't going to be fooling anybody, it's like something out of a Christmas cracker and to be honest I would rather it just said "Lock Picks" on it rather than giving the impression that I'm trying to hide them. The included printed lock picking guide is pretty useless unfortunately, it gives a vague general idea of how to start trying to open the padlock but is hardly a guide. It has pictures of various picks in it along with their names but doesn't say anything about how each one is used. There was also mention of some kind of e-guide, presumably a downloadable PDF, and I've not yet found any links to that within the set but I may have overlooked it. All in all I like the set, it's given me something to tinker with and I would recommend it to anyone who's interested in the workings of various types of locks.
This lock picking set has all the necessary equipments as a starter kit. I found it useful to watch some youtube videos while practicing using this set.
I treat it as if it were a puzzle, Lot of fun.
Multiple tools of reasonable quality.
My kids are always loosing the shed padlock keys, this gives me some entertainment before I replace the lock- or usually find the keys inside the shed!
I am one of lifes tinkerers so a good bit of fun.
Would you get into the Tower of London with this? No, I doubt this but for tinkering at home and a bit of fun it does the job.
